Nice ‘n Easy

This charming, laid back song was originally written by Alan and Marilyn Bergman for Frank Sinatra. He had recorded an album that the record company thought needed something a bit happier and more upbeat than its collection of melancholy ballads. Sinatra and his team not only included this tune, but they named the entire album after it…and it was a hit.

Cherry Pink and
Apple Blossom White

This delightfully carefree song began its life as “Cerisiers Roses et Pommiers Blancs,” a French pop hit, in 1950. A few years later bandleader Pérez Prado recorded a distinctive instrumental version, featuring trumpeter Billy Regis, in which the trumpet seems to be “melting” all over the melody of the tune. This version, with English lyrics, became a minor hit for singer Alan Dale in the late 50s.

The Best Is Yet To Come

One of the most joyful and exuberant songs ever! You probably won’t be surprised to hear that Frank Sinatra had the biggest hit with it… but a lot of great singers, including Nancy Wilson, Michael Bublé, Bob Dylan and Sarah Vaughn have also recorded it. It was written by the talented team of Cy Coleman and Carolyn Leigh in 1959.

The Good Life

Another song that originated in France! Originally called La Belle Vie, it was featured in a movie called The Seven Deadly Sins. A few years later the great Tony Bennett sang it, and had a significant US hit with his recording. The original English lyrics are beautiful but kind of sad. For our take on the tune, we reimagined them a little bit.

It Never Entered My Mind

The great Rodgers and Hart wrote this tender ballad for a Broadway show called Higher and Higher back in 1940. In the years since then it has been sung by many of the greatest singers of our time, including Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Jack Jones, and Linda Ronstadt.
